FOOD LICENSE ( FSSAI)

WHAT IS FOOD LICENSE ( FSSAI)?

FOOD LICENSE ( FSSAI) or The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) certificate has now become mandatory for all manufacturers, traders, restaurants, and those who are involved in the food business, commonly termed as Food Business Operators (FBOs). Therefore, any organized food manufacturing or processing or packaging, or distributing entity is now required to obtain an FSSAI License before commencing business.

Types of Food Licenses issued by FSSAI

There are 3 types of FSSAI License:

  •   Central License
  •   State License
  •   Basic Registration

FOOD LICENSE ( FSSAI) DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

In order to get FSSAI License FBOs have to show documents for verification

Signed an Completed form-B ( Form a for Basic Registration)

Photo identity proof of the FBOs – PAN Card and Passport Size Photograph

The plan for food safety system management

Proof of possession of the Premises ( Land papers or Rental Agreement)

An extensive list of food items FBO will be handling and dealing.

Articles of Association/Certificate of Incorporation/PartnerDeed, if applicable

PROCESS FOR FOOD LICENSE ( FSSAI) REGISTRATION?

Sign Up Portal

Sign up on the FSSAI FBO sign up portal. Affidavit and declaration by first subscribers and Directors should be prepared.

Reference ID

Fill the prescribed form and submit it to generate a unique reference ID for your application.

Verification and Inspection

After due verification and inspection by the authorities, licence is granted to the applicant.

Acknowledgement

Acknowledgement is generated after submitting the application which is to be submitted to the concerned State Authority or Regional Office of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India along with the supporting documents and prescribed fee.
